I would like to update my summary of the records that I’ve found so far, for Michał Kowalski and Marianna Jaster. All the records are from the Krajna area of Poland. The present day locations are in Gmina Złotów, Gmina Zakrzewo, Gmina Krajenka, Gmina Więcbork, and Gmina Jastrowie, which are within Wielkopolskie and Kujawsko-Pomorskie Provinces. Assumptions/Theories:
- There were a number of different Kowalski families living in the area. My Kowalski family were Colonists residing in the village of Stawnica.
- Michał Kowalski was a sibling to Mateusz, Marcin, and Marianna.
- Michał Kowalski and Marianna Jaster also resided in villages of the Zakrzewo Parish.
- The couple had a number of children in the Zakrzewo Parish, between the following years – 1792-1799. These records are available only at the Koszalin Archdiocese archives.
- Based on the Zakrzewo/Złotów Kowalski marriages, baptisms, and deaths, I’ve tried to fill in the births from the missing years above. These assumptions could change after I obtain the records from the Koszalin Archdiocese archives.
- The earliest Jaster record that I have was recorded in Złotowo, in 1767 – the marriage of Marcin Jaster. I believe this is Marianna’s father. This assumption could change after I obtain the records from the Koszalin Archdiocese archives.
- Marcin Jaster, aged 18, married in the Zakrzewo Parish. Marianna Kowalska was the Godmother of his children. Marcin and Marianna are most likely siblings.
