I would like to participate in Sunday’s daily blogging theme called, “Sunday’s Obituary”. Below, I have transcribed the obituary of Otyllia Malek nee Kobs (my 3rd great grand Aunt). The obituary was listed in the Milwaukee Journal on Sunday, September 22, 1940. The obituary is as follows:
Obituary of Otyllia Malek nee Kobs (September 22, 1940)
Malek: Otyllia (nee Kobs), Sept. 19, beloved mother of Mrs. Lucy Paruzynski, Amanda Malek, Sister M. Maurycya of Notre Dame convent, Mrs. Maryanna Klappa, Mrs. Anna Nowak, Leo Malek, and Edward Malek; also survived by 1 daughter-in-law, 3 sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Funeral Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the residence 708 W. Rogers st., to St. Stanislaus church. Internment Holy Trinity. Member of the Holy Rosary society, Immaculate Conception society, and Apostleship of Prayer society. Arthur Piechowski in charge.
