Sunday’s Obituary–John P. Wierzba (1981)

I would like to participate in Sunday’s daily blogging theme called, "Sunday’s Obituary". Below, I have transcribed the obituary of John P. Wierzba (my 1st cousin 2x removed). The obituary was listed in the Stevens Point Journal on Monday, August 24, 1981. The obituary is as follows:
John P. Wierzba (August 24, 1981)
John P. Wierzba, 71, Amherst Junction, died early today at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Mr. Wierzba was born Oct. 31, 1909, in the town of Stockton, a son of the late Martin and Josephine Wierzba. He was married in Stockton Nov. 10, 1931, to the former Lillian Trzebiatowski.
He was employed for over 20 years by the Vetter Manufacturing Co., in Stevens Point.
Mr. Wierzba was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Amherst, and the Rosary Society of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Fancher.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Julian and Robert, Almond, and Jerome, Milwaukee; six daughters, Mrs. Orville (Edwina) Damrau, Plover, Mrs. Arnold (Regina) Groshek, Milwaukee, Mrs. LeRoy (Betty) Glodoski, Milwaukee, Mrs. Anthony (Joan) Yenter, Amherst Junction, Mrs. Thomas Groshek, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Donald (Rita) Cline, Stevens Point; 25 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest, Plover, and Frank, Amherst; and five sisters, Mrs. Henry (Susan) Trzebiatowski and Mrs. Andrew (Theresa) Trzebiatowski, Amherst, Sister Regina, Stevens Point, Mrs. Joseph (Frances) Wodarski, Chicago, and Mrs. John (Florence) Sikorski Jr., Phoenix, Ariz.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. James’ Church, Amherst, with Rev. Robert Pedretti officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home, Amherst, from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The Fancher Holy Name Society will say the rosary there at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and a general rosary will be said at 8.
