Military Monday – John F. Woyak WWI Draft Registration (Portage County, WI)
Hello,
I’d like to continue my participation in the Geneabloggers daily prompt for Monday, called “Military Monday“. I am posting the WWI Draft Registration card of my 1st cousin 2x removed, John F. Woyak, who was the nephew of my great-grandfather Vincent Wierzba.
He registered on June 5, 1917 at the 23rd Precinct Office, which was located in Amherst, Wisconsin. He was aged 30 years old, during his registration. John listed his birth date as March 6, 1887 and that he was born in Polonia, Portage, Wisconsin. John lived with his wife and children, at Amherst Junction, Portage, Wisconsin. John listed his occupation as “farmer”, working on his farmstead, in the Town of Amherst, Portage, Wisconsin.
