Military Monday – Jacob Wierzba WWI Draft Registration (Portage County, WI)
Hello,
I’d like to continue my participation in the Geneabloggers daily prompt for Monday, called “Military Monday“. I am posting the WWI Draft Registration card of my 1st cousin 2x removed, Jacob Wierzba, who was the nephew of my great-grandfather Vincent Wierzba.
He registered on September 12, 1918 at the Portage County Registration Office, which was located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He was aged 19 years old, during his registration. Jacob listed his birth date as July 21, 1899. Jacob lived with his parents, on the family farmstead, at Route 2, Rosholt, Sharon, Portage, Wisconsin. Jacob listed his occupation as “farmer”, working on the Mike Wierzba farmstead, at Route 2, Rosholt, Sharon, Portage, Wisconsin. Jacob listed his father, Mike Wierzba, who also lived at Route 2, Rosholt, Sharon, Portage, Wisconsin, as his nearest relative.
