Maciej Wałdoch Family – Research Summary 1

I would like to update my summary of the records that I’ve found so far, for Maciej Wałdoch and his unknown spouse. All the Poland sourced records are from the Kaszuby area of Poland. The present day locations are in Gmina Lipusz, Gmina Brusy, and Gmina Dziemiany, which are within Pomorskie Province. The information is derived from the listed records below.

NOTE: This summary has been concluded based on speculation and records that are available. This includes notes from the Lipusz Parish Brotherhood of the Rosary and West Prussian Land Records. This also takes into account DNA results and linked trees through My Heritage and Ancestry websites.

Assumptions/Theories/Roadblocks:

• Maciej Wałdoch was born in Trzebuń prior to 1735, to his parents Michał and Gertruda Wałdoch, in the Leśno Parish.
• All of the Wałdoch children listed above were born in the Lipusz Parish. Their father was most likely Maciej Wałdoch of Słone.
• The couple may have had more children between 1766-1786.
• Maciej Wałdoch died in the Lipusz Parish prior to 1818 or in the Leśno Parish between 1781-1785.
• There is a Marianna Ostrowska who is listed as a Godmother for some of the Wałdoch baptisms, this could be their mother who remarried after the death of Maciej.
• The wife of Maciej died in the Lipusz Parish before 1818.
• Jan Wałdoch and Marianna Rolbiecka married @1797 in the Lipusz or Leśno Parish.
• Maciej Wałdoch and Wiktoria Żywicka married @1799 in the Lipusz or Leśno Parish.
• Józef Wałdoch and Ewa Żywicka married @1800 in the Lipusz or Leśno Parish.
• Bartłomiej Wałdoch and Magdalena Borzyszkowska married @1804 in the Lipusz or Leśno Parish.
• Maciej Kropidłowski and Ewa Wałdoch married @1805 in the Lipusz or Leśno Parish.
