Mateusz Tobiasz Family – Research Summary Part I

I would like to summarize the records that I’ve found so far, for Mateusz Tobiasz. All the records are from the Kujawy area of Poland. The present day locations are in Gmina Zakrzewo, Gmina Dobre, and Gmina Bądkowo, all within Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province. The information is derived from the listed records below.

5. Mateusz Tobiasz – Sędzin Inhabitant Register

Mateusz Tobiasz was born in the village of Gosławice (1), on August 13, 1853, to his parents Ignacy Tobiasz and Zofia Karpik.

Mateusz and his family lived in the village of Adolfin (2) by 1860, where his father, Ignacy, worked as a farmhand. Around 1861-1863, Ignacy may have moved his family to the village of Biesiekierz (3). By 1868, the Ignacy Tobiasz family were once again residents of the village of Adolfin. Ignacy continued working as a farmhand until his death on November 28, 1868.

Mateusz Tobiasz married Anna Marciniak sometime before August 1877. Mateusz and Anna lived in the village of Łowiczek (4), where Mateusz worked as a groom and a farmhand. On August 28, 1877, Mateusz and Anna had a son named Józef, in the village of Łowiczek. Two years later, on December 15, 1879, Mateusz and Anna had a son named Walenty, in the village of Łowiczek.

On October 11, 1898, Mateusz and Anna’s son Józef married Katarzyna Brzezińska, in the village of Zakrzewo (5). Mateusz and Anna were listed as residents of Sędzin (6).

Mateusz and Anna were listed in the Sędzin Inhabitant Registers in between 1918-1932, living in the village of Adolfin.
