Marriage of Jozef Tobiasz and Katarzyna Brzezinska (1898)

This is my translation of the Russian language marriage record of Józef Tobiasz and Katarzyna Brzezińska, from the Straszewo parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Zakrzewo No 15 1898

This happened in the village of Straszewo on the 11th/23rd of October 1898, at 1 p.m. We declare, that in the presence of Franciszek Wisniewski, aged 50, and Antoni Matusiak, aged 32, both farmers in Zakrzewo, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:

Józef Tobiasz, single, aged 21, born in village of Łowiczek, peasant resident of the village of Zakrzewo, son of Mateusz and Anna nee Marciniak whose permanent residence is in Sędzin,

and Katarzyna Brzezińska, aged 20, born in Zakrzewo where she is a resident, daughter of Wawrzyniec and Jadwiga nee Wisniewska who are permanently residing in Zakrzewo.

The wedding was preceded by three readings of the banns at the church, on the 27th of September/9th of October, the 4th/16th and the 11th/23rd of October, 1898. The newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them. Permissions were given by the parents of the bride and groom. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
