Jozef Tobiasz Family – Research Summary Part I
Hello,
I would like to summarize the records that I’ve found so far, for Józef Tobiasz. All the records are from the Kujawy area of Poland. The present day locations are in Gmina Zakrzewo, Gmina Dobre, and Gmina Bądkowo, all within Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province. The information is derived from the listed records below.
- Baptism of Józef Tobiasz (1877)
- Marriage of Józef Tobiasz and Katarzyna Brzezińska (1898).
- Death of Jan Tobiasz (1906).
- Death of Michał Tobiasz (1910).
- Józef Tobiasz Sędzin Inhabitant Register
Józef Tobiasz was born in the village of Łowiczek (1), on August 28, 1877, to his parents Mateusz Tobiasz and Anna Marciniak. Mateusz worked in Łowiczek as a horse groom and a farmhand.
Sometime before October 1898, Józef Tobiasz moved to Zakrzewo (2) to find work as a laborer. On October 11, 1898, Józef would marry Katarzyna Brzezińska, in the village of Zakrzewo. Katarzyna was born and raised in the village of Zakrzewo.
From 1898 until sometime between 1918-1932, Józef and Katarzyna would reside in the village of Zakrzewo. They would have at least 9 nine children between 1898-1918. On February 13, 1900, they had a child named Józef. Two years later, on August 4, 1902, their daughter Zofia was born. Sometime in 1905, they had a son named Jan, who would die on October 12, 1906. On July 19, 1907, the couple had a daughter named Marianna.
On August 30, 1909, Józef and Katarzyna had another son, his name was Michał. In 1910, the family would lose two children. The first, Michał, on June 30, 1910, the second was Marianna, on July 30, 1910. On April 29, 1911, the couple had another son, his name was Antoni. About and a year and a half later, another son was born. On November 7, 1912, Szczepan was born.
The couple would have two more children before 1918. The first was named Anna, who was born on June 3, 1916. The second was named Franciszek, who was born on January 31, 1918.
The family would remain in the village of Zakrzewo until sometime between 1918-1932. Then, the family moved to the Adolfin (3) manor where they resided with Józef’s parents and possibly his deceased brother Michał’s family. Unfortunately, I did not receive an exact date for the Sędzin Inhabitant Register extractions, only that the register book was from 1918-1932.
