Ignacy Tobiasz was born in the village of Dulsk (1), on July 11, 1820, to his parents Stanisław Tobiasz and Agnieszka Buszka. Sometime before April 1845, the Stanisław and Agnieszka Tobiasz family moved from the Prussian village Dulsk (or one the surrounding villages) to the Russian village of Krotoszyn (2).
By 1846, Ignacy was residing in the village of Gawronki (3), where he was a farmhand. On June 1, 1846, Ignacy would marry Zofia Karpik in the village of Bądkowo (4), where she was a resident. Ignacy and Zofia would continue to reside in the village of Bądkowo until 1851. During these years, Ignacy worked as a farmhand and a horseman. Ignacy and Zofia had 3 children between 1846-1851 in the village of Bądkowo. There first child, Maciej, was born on February 6, 1848 and died a short time later on April 16, 1848. There second and third children were twins. Maryanna and Katarzyna were born on November 15, 1850.
Ignacy would seek employment as a laborer in the village of Gosławice (5), where he and his family also lived. Some of his brothers and sisters also resided in the area. On October 29, 1851, Katarzyna would die less than a year old. On August 13, 1853, Ignacy and Zofia would have a son named Mateusz.
Ignacy and his family would live in the village of Zakrzewo (6) sometime between August 1853 to October 1859. Between this time frame, they would give birth to at least one child. In about 1857, Ignacy and Zofia would have a son named Antoni.
The next records that I’ve found indicate that Ignacy and his family lived in the village of Adolfin (7) by 1859, where Ignacy worked as a farmhand. Their eldest daughter, Marianna, passed away on October 15, 1859. Another loss occurred when their son, Antoni, died on April 22, 1860. On November 25, 1860, Ignacy and Zofia had another son, named Andrzej. Ignacy’s brother Andrzej was the godfather.
Around 1861-1863, Ignacy and his family may have resided in Biesiekierz (8). According to my 2x great grandfather’s marriage record, he was born to Ignacy and Zofia, in the village of Biesiekierz, in about 1862. Also, Ignacy was a godfather to a child in 1862 in this same village.
By 1868, Ignacy and his family were once again residents of the village of Adolfin. Ignacy continued working as a farmhand until his death on November 28, 1868.
I have found two marriages of Ignacy and Zofia’s children. The first occurred in the village of Koneck (9), Andrzej and Michalina Sobocińska were married on June 19, 1881. The second occurred in the village of Zakrzewo, Michał and Rozalia Nowak were married on October 18, 1885.
Zofia Tobiasz, nee Karpik passed away on November 23, 1898 in the village of Zakrzewo. Her last residence was listed as being within the district of Sędzin.
