Andrzej Tobiasz was born in the Adolfin Folwark (1), on November 25th, 1860, to his parents Ignacy Tobiasz and Zofia Karpik. Ignacy worked on the Adolfin manor as a farmhand. Around 1861-1863, Ignacy may have moved his family to the village of Biesiekierz (2). By 1868, the Ignacy Tobiasz family were once again residents of the village of Adolfin. Ignacy continued working as a farmhand until his death on November 28th, 1868. Zofia would continue to live in the Adolfin Folwark, while raising her children.
Andrezj would seek work in the village of Święte (3) sometime before June 1881. He would search for work as a domestic worker (specifically a horse groom) on one of the estates (possibly the estate owned by Antoni Kułpa). On June 19th, 1881, in the village of Święte, Andrzej Tobiasz married Michalina Sobocińska. The couple would give birth to their first child on January 18th, 1882. Their child was named Kazimiera. The following year, on February 15th, 1883, the couple would give birth to their second child and daughter, Józefa. Anna Tobiasz, the wife of Mateusz Tobiasz (the brother of Andrzej), is listed as the godmother. By the end of 1884, the couple would have their third child. On November 14th, 1884, their son Stanisław was born in the village of Święte.
The family was located in the village of Wola Bachorna (4) by 1886. Andrzej worked as a domestic worker, specifically as a horse groom on an estate. On September 2nd, 1886, the couple gave birth to their daughter Helena. Rozalia Tobiasz, the wife of Michał Tobiasz (the brother of Andrzej), is listed as the godmother. While residing in Wola Bachorna, Andrzej Tobiasz died on June 18th, 1887. He was aged 27. He widowed his wife with their four children. By 1888, Michalina was back in the village of Święte. On January 2nd, 1888, the couples son Stanisław died. Later in 1888, Michalina moved her family to the village of Bądkowo (5). On September 24th, 1888, Helena would pass away at age 2, in the village of Bądkowo.
In 1889, Michalina would travel to the city of Nieszawa (6). While residing in the city of Nieszawa, she would give birth to a daughter named Cecelia. The father was unknown. By 1891, Michalina and her family were back in the village of Święte, returning from Nieszawa. On August 15th, 1891, Józefa Tobiasz, aged 9, passed away in the village of Święte.
The remaining family would take up permanent residence in the Adolfin Folwark. They would reside in house number four, along with many of the other Tobiasz families.

The maps below are a combination of maps found on the website for Map Archive of Wojskowy Instytut Geograficzny: http://english.mapywig.org/news.php. The map below is derived from the following areas: Ciechocinek and Radziejów. I used Photoshop to merge the maps into a panorama of the area where my ancestors were located. The map is not 100% aligned, but it does give a general idea of where villages were located.
The villages with “stars” are the Polish villages that are listed above under “Locations”. More information for the villages within this article can be found on the Slownik Geograficzny Translations page on this website: http://www.apagr.com/slownik-geograficzny-translations/
