Marriage of Wawrzyniec Witczak and Krystyna Pluskota nee Sobieraj (1817)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Wawrzyniec Witczak and Krystyna Pluskota nee Sobieraj, from the Piotrków Parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Wąsewo, 1817, No. 10,

This happened on May 13th, 1817. before Us, the Administrator and Civil Registrar of Piotrków, performing the duties of the Registrar of Vital Records for the District of Piotrków, Radziejów County, Mazowieckie Province:

Wawrzyniec Witczak, a widower, aged 40, according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Piotrków Parish, a farm owner residing in Wąsewo.

Krystyna Pluskota nee Sobieraj, a widow, aged 41, according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Broniewo Parish, her parents are deceased.

The parties who appeared request that we proceed with the celebration of the wedding they have arranged between them, the announcement of which was published before the main doors of our District Court, that is: first on the 22nd of April, and the second on the 28th of April, 1817, at 12 p.m. When we were not informed of any obstacles to the aforementioned marriage, and the parents here in attendance hereby consent, acquiescing to the aforementioned request, after reading to the parties and witnesses all the aforementioned papers and Section Six of the Civil Code regarding marriage, we asked the future husband and future wife whether they wished to join with each other in marital union, and when each of them responded separately that such is their wish, we proclaim in the name of the law that Wawrzyniec Witczak and Krystyna Pluskota are joined in the bonds of matrimony.

Of which we recorded this record in the presence of: Józef Małecki, aged 33; Wojciech Służewski, aged 50; Andrzej Cynka, aged 30; and Franciszek Szymonkiewicz (Szymczak?), aged 68; all of the witnesses are from the village of Wąsewo. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us who can write, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
