Records Summary:
Mateusz Nowak was born to his parents Jan and Justyna Nowak nee Robaszewska (Note: her last name is misspelled on multiple records) on August 17th, 1841, in the village of Gosławice (1) – Siniarzewo Parish. Mateusz would grow up in multiple villages in the parishes of Siniarzewo, Straszewo, Byczyna, and Sędzin. His father was a shepherd in this region. Justyna would pass away sometime after Mateusz’s birth and Jan would remarry.
Marianna Pankowska was born in the village of Zakrzewo (2), on January 10th, 1845, to her parents Wojciech and Lucja Pankowski nee Kochanowska. (Note: Wojciech’s name is incorrectly listed on Lucja’s marriage record as Jan). Wojciech was a farm owner residing in the village of Zakrzewo. Marianna and her siblings would grow up in the village of Zakrzewo.
Mateusz and Marianna would marry in the village of Zakrzewo, on the 21st of September, 1862. The couple would reside in the village of Zakrzewo and raise their family. The couple would have their first child, named Rozalia, on August 8th, 1863. The couple would have their second child, named Jan, on October 13th, 1865. The couple would have a third child, named Walenty, on January 28th, 1868, in the village of Zakrzewo.
Jakób Nowak was born on June 29th, 1870, in the village of Zakrzewo. On April 9th, 1973, the couple gave birth to Wojciech, in the village of Zakrzewo (Note: I cannot find the birth record, but have found the Permanent Residence record). Mateusz was working at the time as a laborer. By 1876, Mateusz was working as a farmer in the village of Zakrzewo. On December 22nd, 1876, Adam Nowak was born. Just under a year later, on December 20th, 1877, Adam would pass away. The couple would give birth to their last child, Józef, on February 14th, 1879.

He would leave behind a wife and the following children: Rozalia (aged 17), Jan (aged 15), Walenty (aged 12), Jakób (aged 10), Wojciech (aged 7) and Józef (aged 1). Less than a year later, Jóżef, aged 2, would pass away on January 21st, 1881.
In 1881, Rozalia Nowak, aged 18, was the first of the Nowak children to marry. She would marry a farmer named Tomasz Świercz, aged 22, from the village of Wola Bachorna. On August 7th, 1881, Tomasz and Rozalia would marry in the village of Zakrzewo. Rozalia would have two children with Tomasz, but in 1883 he would pass away. Rozalia would remarry in 1885, to Michał Tobiasz, in the village of Zakrzewo. The couple would have their permanent residence in the village of Zakrzewo, house #15. The family would travel throughout the area for work and would have children in many different parishes.

Maps:
The map below is a combination of maps found on the website for Map Archive of Wojskowy Instytut Geograficzny: http://english.mapywig.org/news.php. The map below is derived from the following areas: Ciechocinek and Radziejów. I used Photoshop to merge the maps into a panorama of the area where my ancestors were located. The map is not 100% aligned, but it does give a general idea of where villages were located.
The villages with “stars” are the Polish villages that are listed above under “Locations”. Only the locations of Mateusz and Marianna’s residences are marked with “stars”. The locations of their children are not marked on this map. More information for the villages within this article can be found on the Slownik Geograficzny Translations page on this website: http://www.apagr.com/slownik-geograficzny-translations/
