Marriage of Jakob Kochanowski and Agnieszka Borkowska (1869)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Jakób Kochanowski and Agnieszka Borkowska, from the Raciążek parish.

Raciążek, No. 28, 1869

This happened in the city of Raciążek on the 4th/11th of October, 1869, at 12 p.m. We declare in the presence of: Jakób Kawczyński, aged 62, a factory watchman in Ciechocinek, and Piotr Kisielewski, aged 68, a sexton in Ciechocinek, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:

Jakób Kochanowski, aged 50, Catholic, a widower – his previous wife Konstancja died on the 3rd/15th of August, 1869, a laborer in Ciechocinek, the son of the deceased couple Stanisław and Marcianna Kochanowski nee Małkowska – who resided in Zakrzewo, born in the village of Zakrzewo,

and Agnieszka Borkowska, aged 46, Catholic, a widow – her previous husband Wojciech died on the 5th of January, 1869, residing in Ciechocinek, the daughter of the deceased couple Szymon and Katarzyna Gierek – who resided in Wólne, born in Paczyn – Prussia?.

Three announcements preceded this marriage. The banns were read, at the Raciążek Parish, on the 14th/26th of September, 21st of September/3rd of October, and the 28th of September/10th of October, 1869. No impediments arose and the families gave their approvals. The newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them. This document, after being read aloud to the witnesses and the newlyweds, was signed by the presiding pastor.
