Marriage of Wojciech Karpik and Jozefa Wisniewska (1854)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Wojciech Karpik and Józefa Kołodziejska nee Wiśniewska, from the Sędzin parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Sędzin Folwark, No 3, 1854

This happened in the village of Sędzin on the 21st of May, 1854, at 1 p.m. We declare, that in the presence of Andrzej Dębowski, aged 34, and Jakób Wojnacki, aged 42, both are farmhands residing in the Sędzin Folwark, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:

Wojciech Karpik, aged 20, single, a farmhand residing in the Sędzin Folwark, born in the village of Bądkowo, the son of Maciej and Marianna Karpik,

and Józefa Kołodziejska, aged 25, a widow, her previous husband died in Brześć on the 1st of February, 1851, she is a laborer residing in the Sędzin Folwark, she was born in Pieranie, the daughter of Tomasz and Zuzanna Wiśniewski.

The wedding was preceded by three readings of the banns, at the Sędzin Parish church, on the 7th, 14th, and 21st of May 1854. No impediments arose. The newlyweds stated that no martial agreement was made between them. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
