Marriage of Jozef Switek and Antonina Karpik (1853)
Hello,
This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Józef Świtek and Antonina Karpik, from the Bytoń parish. Any errors are completely my own.
Popowice, No. 9, 1853
This happened in Bytoń, on the 17th of April, 1853, at 12 p.m. We declare in the presence of Julian Lewandowski, aged 45, and Jan Jarmusz, aged 48, both are farmhands residing in the village of Bytoń, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:
Józef Świtek, aged 19, single, a worker residing in the village of Bytoń, the son of Marcin and Marianna Świtek nee Komornicka, born in the village of Pruchnowo,
and Antonina Karpik, aged 25, single, a laborer residing in the village of Popowice, the daughter of Maciej and Agata Karpik – who were laborers residing in the village of Łowiczek, born in the village of Łowiczek.
Three announcements preceded this marriage. The banns were read, at the Bytoń Parish Church on the 3rd, 10th, and 17th of April, 1853. No impediments arose. No prenuptial agreement was made between the newlyweds. This document, after being read aloud to the witnesses and the newlyweds, was signed by the presiding pastor.
Rev. Jezierski, Pastor of the Bytoń and Civil Registrar.
Best Regards,
