Challenges and Difficulties
- None of the records above indicate any relations for my Bielawski or Pakuła familial lines. No witnesses or Godparents have a direct relation to my ancestors.
- There are Pakuła families within the Kokanin, Chełmno, and Jeziorsko Parishes, also many surrounding parishes.
- There are Bielawski families in many surrounding parishes.
Action Plan
- Perform extensive searches throughout the Kalisz/Turek areas to map out Pakuła and Bielawski families in an attempt to find connections to my ancestry lines.
- Start with the following parishes: Kokanin, Chełmno, Jeziorsko, Lisków, Koźminek, Malanów, Turek ….
Map of Kalisz/Turek Area with Parishes
Source: The map above is a combination of maps found on the website for Map Archive of Wojskowy Instytut Geograficzny: http://english.mapywig.org/news.php. I used Image Composite Editor to merge the maps into a panorama of the area where my ancestors were located. The map is not 100% aligned, but it does give a general idea of where villages were located.
Conclusion
- As you can see from the map above, there are many possible parishes to search through. After I’ve performed the deep-dive for a parish, I will provide a summary. Note: the map above may not include all parishes that will need to be searched. I will amend the map, as research dictates.
- This will be an extensive undertaking, searching records from the Szukaj w Archiwach website and the FHC catalog. This will take awhile and I may need to switch to another ancestor’s research to break up the monotony.
- I will also include any population registers from the area for the Bielawski and Pakuła families.
Best Regards,
