Opatowice – Gmina Radziejow – Slownik Geograficzny Translations

Administrative location in 1895 (Słownik Geograficzny Krolestwa Polskiego): Opatowice, Powiat Nieszawa, Gubernia Warszawske, Vistula Land, Russian Empire.
A folwark and colony located in powiat Nieszawa, gmina Bytoń, and belongs to the Radziejów Parish. There are 168 inhabitants. The folwark has a total land area of 450 morg and there are 334 morg for the peasants. In 1827, there were 15 homes with 120 inhabitants. Opatowice belonged to the Benedictine Monastery in Mogilno. After the confiscation of the monastery’s treasures/finances, the ownership was passed on to the government. The village and folwark were given as a donation to Radziejów Stare.
According to the Regency records of Województwo Brześć-Kujawski, in 1557 and 1566, the village of Opatowice was located in powiat Radziejów and belonged to the Radziejów Parish. It was the property of Sebastyan Zydowski, who was the Bishop of Gnieszno. It had 10 łan of land for the peasants, 2 łan of land for rent, and 1 1/2 łan of land for the mayor (Pawiński, Wielkop., II, 27).
