Book Review – Iron Kingdon: The Rise and Downfall of Prussia, 1600-1947
Hello,
I have finished reading the book titled Iron Kingdom: the Rise and Downfall of Prussia, 1600-1947, written by Christopher Clark. The book provides an in-depth history of the formation of the Prussian state, the rise of the Prussian Empire, the construction of the German Empire, through the destruction of Hitler’s Third Reich. The book details this history, while concentrating specifically on the Prussian states. The book elaborates on the rulers and kings of Prussia, wars, society, culture, politics, and economics.
If you have ancestors from Prussia, countries that were once ruled by Prussia, or are interested in history, I would highly suggest reading this book. Reading Iron Kingdom 1600-1947, provided me with insight on the history of this region. It also provided a better understanding of the place and time that my ancestors came from.
Currently, I am reading the book called The Early Slavs, written by P.M. Barford…
Best Regards,
Al
