Marriage of Wojciech Smiglowski and Lucja Kowalczyk nee Nowak (1849)
Hello,
This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Wojciech Smigłowski and Łucja Kowalczyk nee Nowak, from the Straszewo parish.
Zakrzewo, No. 14, 1849
This happened in the village of Straszewo, on the 14th of November, 1849, at 8 a.m. We declare in the presence of: Józef Matuszak, aged 50, a farm owner residing in the village of Zakrzewo, and Jakób Trojanowski, aged 50, a farm owner residing in Straszewo, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:
Wojciech Smigłowski, aged 28, Catholic, single, a farmhand residing in Sędzin, the son of Michał – a farmhand – and Ewa Smigłowski nee Kowalska – residing in Sędzin, born in the village of Konary – Kingdom of Prussia,
and Łucja Kowalczyk, aged 40, Catholic, a widow – her previous husband Roch Kowalczyk died on the 10th of November, 1848, the daughter of the deceased couple Antoni and Agnieszka Nowak – who were laborers in Przybysław, born in the village of Przybysław – Kingdom of Prussia, a laborer residing in Zakrzewo.
Three announcements preceded this marriage. The banns were read, at the Straszewo and Sędzin Parish churches on the 21st and 28th of October, and the 4th of November, 1849. No impediments arose and the families gave their approvals. The newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them. This document, after being read aloud to the witnesses and the newlyweds, was signed by the presiding pastor.
Rev. Jakób Kolęda, Pastor of the Straszewo Parish and Civil Registrar.
