Marriage of Jan Swiatkowski and Tekla Pankowska (1842)
Hello,
This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Jan Swiątkowski and Tekla Pankowska, from the Straszewo parish.
Zakrzewo, No. 8, 1842
This happened in the village of Straszewo on the 5th of November, 1842, at 8 a.m. We declare in the presence of: Jakób Krzyżaniak, aged 32, a farm owner residing in the village of Zakrzewo, and Jakób Trojanowski, aged 45, a farm owner residing in the village of Straszewo, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:
Jan Swiątkowski, aged 25, Catholic, single, a farmhand residing in the village of Kuczkowo, the son of the deceased couple Franciszek and Rocha Swiątkowski – both were laborers, born in ?,
and Tekla Pankowska, aged 18, Catholic, single, residing with her mother in the village of Zakrzewo, the daughter of the deceased Wojciech – a laborer in Zakrzewo, and his widow who has remarried, Franciszka Lewandowska – a laborer in Zakrzewo, born in the village of Zakrzewo.
Three announcements preceded this marriage. The banns were read, at the Straszewo and Sędzin Parish churches on the 23rd and 30th of October, and the 1st of November, 1842. No impediments arose and the families gave their approvals. The newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them. This document, after being read aloud to the witnesses and the newlyweds, was signed by the presiding pastor.
Rev. Jakób Kolęda, Pastor of the Straszewo Parish and Civil Registrar.
