Baptism of Szymon Kowalczyk (1840)

This is my translation of the Polish language baptismal record of Szymon Kowalczyk, from the Straszewo parish.

Zakrzewo, No. 45, 1840

This occurred in the village of Straszewo, on the 22nd of October, 1840, at 10 a.m. Roch Kowalczyk, aged 40, Catholic, a farm owner residing in the village of Zakrzewo, appeared in the presence of: Józef Matuszak, aged 40, a farm owner, and Walenty Bąk, aged 35, a wheelwright, both are residing in the village of Zakrzewo, and showed Us a male child born in the village of Zakrzewo, house #12, on the 16th of October, 1840, at 12 p.m., to his lawful wife, Łucja nee Nowak, aged 23. At Holy Baptism, performed this day, this child was given the name Szymon. The Godparents were: Jan Urbański and Tekla Bączyk. This document was read to the declarant and witnesses, who are illiterate, and was signed by Us alone.
