Marriage of Józef Żywica and Józefa Kujawa (1837)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Józef Żywica and Józefa Kujawa, from the Sędzin parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Sędzin, No. 10, 1837

This happened in the village of Sędzin on the 2nd of December, 1837, at 3 p.m. We declare, that in the presence of: Wojciech Kazimierczak, aged 36, a farm owner, and Bartłomiej Balcerak, aged 50, a farm owner, both are residing in Sędzin, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:

Józef Żywica, aged 28, a widower, a farm owner residing in Sędzin, the son of the deceased couple Wojciech and Zofia Żywica – farm owners, born in the village of Chlewiska,

and Józefa Kujawa, aged 22, single, residing in Sędzin with her family, the daughter of Gabriel and Marianna Kujawa, born in the village of Sędzin.

The wedding was preceded by two readings of the banns, one reading at the Sędzin Parish church, on the 26th of November, 1837, and a second reading at the Kujawski-Kalisz consistory on the 29th of November, 1837. Oral consent was given by the families who were present for the wedding and no impediments arose. No prenuptial agreement was made by the newlyweds. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
