Marriage of Szymon Malicki and Antonina Pietrasiak (1811)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Szymon Malicki and Antonina Pietrasiak from the Połajewo Parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Połajewo, No 5, 1811

This happened on November 17th, 1811. Before Us, Rev. Bartłomiej Borysławski, the undersigned Registrar of Vital Records of the District of Połajewo, Brześć County, Bydzgoszcz Province:

Szymon Malicki, aged 24 – according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Połajewo Parish, the son of Jan Malicki, a farm owner residing in Połajewo, and Marianna Malicka nee Tomczak, he previously resided with his parents,

as well as Antonina Pietrasiak, aged 18 – according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Połajewo Parish, the daughter of Łukasz Pietrasiak, a farm owner residing in Połajewo, and Krystyna Pietrasiak nee Jabłońska, she resides with her family.

The parties who appeared request that we proceed with the celebration of the wedding they have arranged between them, the announcement of which was published before the main doors of our District Court, that is on the 3rd and 10th of November, 1811, at 12 p.m. When we were not informed of any obstacles to the aforementioned marriage, and the parents here in attendance hereby consent, acquiescing to the aforementioned request, after reading to the parties and witnesses all the aforementioned papers and Section Six of the Civil Code regarding marriage, we asked the future husband and future wife whether they wished to join with each other in marital union, and when each of them responded separately that such is their wish, we proclaim in the name of the law that Szymon Malicki, single, and Antonina Pietrasiak, single, are joined in the bonds of matrimony.

Of which we recorded this record in the presence of: Franciszek Malicki, aged 52, brother of the groom; Łukasz Malicki, aged 45, brother of the groom; Wojciech Pietrasiak, aged 62, the brother of Łukasz Pietrasiak, the Uncle of the bride, a farm owner residing in Połajewek; and Szymon Pietrasiak, aged 47, the brother of Łukasz Pietrasiak, the Uncle of the bride, the village mayor of the Połajewo estate. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by us who can write, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
