Marriage of Józef Trawczyński and Zofia Pietrasiak (1813)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Józef Trawczyński and Zofia Pietrasiak from the Połajewo Parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Połajewo, No 2, 1813

This happened on September 18th, 1813. Before Us, Rev. Bartłomiej Borysławski, the undersigned Registrar of Vital Records of the District of Połajewo, Brześć County, Bydzgoszcz Province:

Józef Trawczyński, aged 32 – according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Połajewo Parish and his previous marriage record,

as well as Zofia Pietrasiak, aged 17 – according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Połajewo Parish, the daughter of Łukasz and Krystyna Pietrasiak.

The parties who appeared request that we proceed with the celebration of the wedding they have arranged between them, the announcement of which was published before the main doors of our District Court, that is on the 1st and 8th of September, 1813, at 12 p.m. When we were not informed of any obstacles to the aforementioned marriage, and the parents here in attendance hereby consent, acquiescing to the aforementioned request, after reading to the parties and witnesses all the aforementioned papers and Section Six of the Civil Code regarding marriage, we asked the future husband and future wife whether they wished to join with each other in marital union, and when each of them responded separately that such is their wish, we proclaim in the name of the law that Jóżef Trawczyński, and Zofia Pietrasiak, are joined in the bonds of matrimony.

Of which we recorded this record in the presence of: Sebastian Trawczyński, aged 45, residing in Połajewo, the brother of Jóżef Trawczyński; Łukasz Pietrasiak, aged 52, the father of the bride, residing in Połajewo; and Szymon Pietrasiak, aged 48, the Uncle of the bride, residing in Połajewo. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by us who can write, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
