Marriage of Mateusz Kolenda and Jadwiga Spiewacka (1821)
Hello,
This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Mateusz Kolenda and Jadwiga Spiewacka, from the Piotrków Parish. Any errors are completely my own.
Świesz, 1821, No. 4,
This happened on October 21st, 1821, before Us, the Administrator and Civil Registrar of Piotrków, performing the duties of the Registrar of Vital Records for the District of Piotrków, Radziejów County, Mazowieckie Province:
Mateusz Kolenda, aged 51, a widower, according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Piotrków Parish.
Jadwiga Spiewacka, aged 50, a widow.
The parties who appeared request that we proceed with the celebration of the wedding they have arranged between them, the announcement of which was published before the main doors of our District Court, that is: first on the 23rd of September, and the second on the 30th of September, 1821, at 12 p.m. When we were not informed of any obstacles to the aforementioned marriage, and the parents here in attendance hereby consent, acquiescing to the aforementioned request, after reading to the parties and witnesses all the aforementioned papers and Section Six of the Civil Code regarding marriage, we asked the future husband and future wife whether they wished to join with each other in marital union, and when each of them responded separately that such is their wish, we proclaim in the name of the law that Mateusz Kolenda and Jadwiga Spiewacka are joined in the bonds of matrimony.
Of which we recorded this record in the presence of: Ignacy Szymczak, aged 60, a farmer; Sebastian Miłak, aged 60; Benedykt Krawczak, aged 50; and Wojciech Grochowa, aged 60. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us who can write, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
Rev. N. Sobieski, Pastor of the Piotrków Parish and Civil Registrar.
