Forman Collection – UWM Digital Archives
Hello,
During the Polish Institute of Arts & Sciences of America’s annual conference that was held in Milwaukee earlier this month, I had learned about many of UW-Milwaukee’s collections. One of these collections was the Harrison Forman Collection.
In 1939, Harrison Forman, who was a journalist and photographer from Wisconsin, arrived in Warsaw, Poland just a few months before the outbreak of World War II. While he was in Warsaw, Forman photographed the city before its destruction due to the war. Also, Forman photographed the Nazi invasion of Poland. The collection is comprised of 90 images and can be found here: Nazi Invasion of Poland: Images and Documents from the Harrison Forman Collection
For more information about this collection: Nazi Invasion of Poland: Images and Documents from the Harrison Forman Collection (About Collection)
This collection is a valuable and unmeasurable contribution to the history of Poland and WWII. I hope you find the collection as fascinating as I have.
Best Regards,
Al
