Wedding Wednesday – Jan Malek and Otylia Kobs (1880)
Hello,
I would like to participate in Wednesday’s daily blogging theme called, “Weddings Wednesday”. I would like to share the Milwaukee County (Milwaukee, WI) Registration of Marriage of my 3rd great grand Aunt, Otylia Kobs and her husband Jan Malek. The details are as follows:
On February 9, 1880, at St. Stanislaus Church, located in the 12th Ward of Milwaukee, Jan Malek and Otylia Kobs (her name was misspelled as Olgia and her last name was listed as Kops, which was interchangeable in many records for the Kobs surname) were married, by Rev. H. Gorski.
Jan is the son of Andrzej and Maria Małek, born in Prussia, a laborer and resident of Milwaukee. Otylia Kobs is the daughter of Andrzej and Antonina Kobs. The witnesses were Karol Swierczy and J. Wawrzeniakowski.
The marriage was registered on June 17, 1880 in Milwaukee County.
