This is my translation of the Latin language Marriage record of Joseph Mecha and Maria Kobs, from the St. Josaphat’s Parish, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. All bride/groom names are listed in their English equivalents.

Milwaukee, No. 31, 1894,

On October 16th, 1894, I, Rev. W. Grutza, Pastor of the St. Josaphat’s Parish, after the banns have been read on three separate Sundays, and no canonical impediment having arisen, with blessing, officiated at the wedding of Joseph Mecha, single, Catholic, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Franciszek and Anna Mecha nee Tomas, from Polonia; and Maria Kobs, single, Catholic, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Paweł and Rozalia Kobs nee Grochowska, from Polonia. The witnesses were: Franciszek Mecha and Andrzej Andrzejewski.
