Marriage of Ignacy Kozicki and Teresa Nowak (1824)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Ignacy Kozicki and Teresa Nowak from the Sędzin Parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Wola Bachorna, No 2, 1824

This happened on November 16th, 1824. Before Us, the undersigned Registrar of Vital Records of the District of Sędzin, Radziejów County, Mazowieckie Province:

Ignacy Kozicki appeared, aged 29, according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Sędzin Parish from the Radziejów Province Court, which was extracted on November 11th, the son of Antoni and Wiktoria Kozicki nee Ogrodowska, single, residing in the village of Wola Bachorna,

as well as Teresa Nowak, aged 16, according to a certificate from the District of Sędzin, which was extracted on November 11th, the daughter of the deceased Antoni and his widow Agnieszka Nowak, a menial laborer residing in the village of Kuczkowo.

The parties who appeared request that we proceed with the celebration of the wedding they have arranged between them, the announcement of which was published before the main doors of our District Court, that is on the 3rd and 10th of November, 1824, at 12 p.m. When we were not informed of any obstacles to the aforementioned marriage, and the parents here in attendance hereby consent, acquiescing to the aforementioned request, after reading to the parties and witnesses all the aforementioned papers and Section Six of the Civil Code regarding marriage, we asked the future husband and future wife whether they wished to join with each other in marital union, and when each of them responded separately that such is their wish, we proclaim in the name of the law that Ignacy Kozicki, single, and Teresa Nowak, single, are joined in the bonds of matrimony.

Of which we recorded this record in the presence of: Wojciech Żywiczka, aged 46; Grzegorz Słoma, aged 40, Tomasz Wochna, aged 60; and Tomasz Wochna, aged 30; all are villagers residing in Kuczkowo. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us who can write, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
