Marriage of Szymon Wojtaszak and Małgorzata Pacholska nee Pietraszewska (1857)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Szymon Wojtaszak alias Wojciechowski and Małgorzata Pacholska nee Pietraszewska, from the Wilczyn parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Wilczyn, No. 5, 1857

This happened in the village of Wilczyn, on the 20th of January/1st of February, 1857, at 1 p.m. We declare, that in the presence of: Szymon Wojtasiak, aged 30, a laborer residing in Kościeszki, the groom’s cousin, and Walenty Lewandowski, aged 60, a laborer residing in Buszkowo, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:

Szymon Wojtaszak alias Wojciechowski, aged 31, Catholic, a farmhand residing in the village of Kościeszki, the son of the late Franciszek and his widow Marianna Wojciechowski nee Michalak, born in the village of Popielewo,

and Małgorzata Pacholska nee Pietraszewska, aged 30, Catholic, a laborer residing in Kościeszki, the widow of Karol Pacholski who died on the 10th of September, 1849, the daughter of Michał and Rozalia Pietraszewski, born in Strzelno.

The wedding was preceded by three readings of the banns, at the Wilczyn Parish Church, on the 6th/18th of January, the 13th/25th of January, and the 20th of January/1st of February, 1857, at 12 p.m. No impediments arose and no prenuptial agreement was made. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
