St. Josaphat Parish of Milwaukee
Hello,
St. Josaphat’s Parish was founded in 1888 and is located on S.6th St. and Lincoln Avenue on Milwaukee’s Southside. The original parish church burned down in 1889 and then the basilica was constructed. In 1901, construction of the basilica was completed. (Borun, Thaddeus, We, the Milwaukee Poles (Milwaukee: Nowiny Publishing Co. 1946)).
The beauty of the interior and exterior of the basilica is very impressive. I grew up a few miles up the street on Lincoln Ave. and the Basilica was always looked at with pride throughout the community.
