Marriage of Jakub Lewandowski and Katarzyna Żywiczka (1837)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Jakub Lewandowski and Katarzyna Żywiczka, from the Brześć Kujawski parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Kuczyna, No 16, 1837

This happened in the village of Brześć on the 20th of November. 1837, at 9 a.m. We declare, that in the presence of: Jan Spingiewicz, aged 38, residing in Brześć, and Andrzej Świątkiewicz, aged 37, a farm owner residing in Kuczyna, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:

Jakub Lewandowski, aged 19, single, residing with his mother in Kuczkowo, a farm owner, the son of the late Bartłomiej and his widow Katarzyna Pawlak, born in Kuczyna,

and Katarzyna Żywiczka, aged 19, single, residing with her mother in Papros, the daughter of the late Tomasz and his widow Katarzyna Żywiczka, born in the village of Papros – Grand Duchy of Poznań.

The wedding was preceded by three readings of the banns, at the Brześć and Pieranie Parishes, on the 29th of October, the 5th and 12th of November, 1837. Oral consent was given by the families who were present for the wedding and no impediments arose. No prenuptial agreement was made by the newlyweds. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write, unless signed below.
