Marriage of Tomasz Wochna and Antonina Żywiczka (1820)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Tomasz Wochna and Antonina Żywiczka, from the Sędzin Parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Kuczkowo, 1820, No. 6,

This happened on November 28th, 1820. Before Us, the Administrator and Civil Registrar of Sędzin, performing the duties of the Registrar of Vital Records for the District of Sędzin, Radziejów County, Mazowieckie Province:

Tomasz Wochna, aged 29, a farmhand residing in Kuczkowo, the son of Tomasz Wochna – the village mayor of Kuczkowo, according to the books of the Sędzin Parish.

Antonina Żywiczka, aged 15, residing in Kuczkowo with her parents, the daughter of Wojciech Żywiczka – a farm owner residing in Kuczkowo, according to the books of the Brudnia Parish.

The parties who appeared request that we proceed with the celebration of the wedding they have arranged between them, the announcement of which was published before the main doors of our District Court, that is: first on the 12th of November, and the second on the 19th of November, 1820, at 11 a.m. When we were not informed of any obstacles to the aforementioned marriage, and the parents here in attendance hereby consent, acquiescing to the aforementioned request, after reading to the parties and witnesses all the aforementioned papers and Section Six of the Civil Code regarding marriage, we asked the future husband and future wife whether they wished to join with each other in marital union, and when each of them responded separately that such is their wish, we proclaim in the name of the law that Tomasz Wochna, single, and Antonina Żywiczka, single, are joined in the bonds of matrimony.

Of which we recorded this record in the presence of: Grzegorz Słoma, aged 40, and Walenty Szuszman, aged 22, both are farm owners residing in Kuczkowo. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us who can write, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
