Welcome to the 22nd edition of the Carnival of Central and Eastern European Genealogy! This edition’s topic is about Roadblocks and Breakthroughs. There are ten articles in this edition. Enjoy!
The first article was written by TCastell of Tangled Trees . In the article titled From Just a Name to a Whole Family, TCastell writes about her first big breakthrough while researching her grandfather’s Hungarian roots.
The second article was written by Julie Cahill Tarr of GenBlog. In Julie’s article titled German Brick Walls, she writes about brickwalls of five families of her German ancestors. If you have any tips about German research, please post a comment on Julie’s blog.
The third article was written by Sharon of Genealogy. In the article titled The Elusive Sarah Klein, Sharon wrote about finding her ancestor Sarah Zymburska’s family in Lomza, Poland.
The fourth article was written by Texicanwife of Mountain Genealogists. The article titled Roadblocks and Breakthroughs deals with following a hunch that lead to finding her biological father’s family.
The fifth article was written by Thomas MacEntee of Destination:Austin Family. In the article titled High-Ya! Kicking down That Brick Wall, Thomas writes about resent breakthrough results regarding his Pressner and Henneberg ancestors.
The sixth article was written by Nick Gombash of Nick Gombash’s Genealogy Blog. In Nick’s article titled My article for the 22nd Edition of Carnival of Eastern and Central European Genealogy, he writes about using family history as a springboard to finding his ancestors village in Hungary.
The seventh article was written by Donna Pointkouski of What’s Past is Prologue. Donna’s article titled Research Roadblocks: Names, is about one of the biggest researching roadblocks: names! Donna provides tips and tricks to finding both given and surnames.
The eighth article was written by Jessica Oswalt of Jessica’s Genejournal. Jessica’s article is titled Breakthroughs and Roadblocks In Researching My German Ancestors ... In this article Jessica provides successful experiences while researching her German ancestors, along with some roadblocks that she is confident she will overcome.
The ninth and tenth articles were written by Al Wierzba of Al’s Polish-American Genealogy Research. The articles are titled Straszewo Marriage Record (dealing with finding an ancestors birth village on a Russian language document) and On the Verge of a Breakthrough (dealing with connecting immigrating Wierzba families in Poland).

The 23rd edition of the Carnival of Central and Eastern European Genealogy will be hosted by Ambar of Still More Genealogy. The topic for this edition will be a carousel.
