Marriage of Szymon Wośk and Dorota Wiśniewska (1814)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Szymon Wośk and Dorota Wiśniewska, from the Broniewo Parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Szóstka, 1814

This happened on November 22nd, 1814. Before Us, the undersigned Registrar of Vital Records of the District of Broniewo, Radziejów County, Bydgoszcz Department:

Szymon Wośk, aged 21, single, appearing with Maciej Sobieraj, aged 71, born in the village of Szóstka, according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Radziejów Parish.

Dorota Wiśniewska, aged 14, single, appearing with her mother, a villager from Szóstka, according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Broniewo Parish.

The parties who appeared request that we proceed with the celebration of the wedding they have arranged between them, the announcement of which was published before the main doors of our District Court, that is: first on the 6th of November, and the second on the 13th of November, 1814, at 12 p.m. When we were not informed of any obstacles to the aforementioned marriage, and the parents here in attendance hereby consent, acquiescing to the aforementioned request, after reading to the parties and witnesses all the aforementioned papers and Section Six of the Civil Code regarding marriage, we asked the future husband and future wife whether they wished to join with each other in marital union, and when each of them responded separately that such is their wish, we proclaim in the name of the law that Szymon and Dorota are joined in the bonds of matrimony.

Of which we recorded this record in the presence of: Andrzej Rybski, aged 38, Antoni Patyk, aged 24, Benedykt Karcz, aged 42, and Maciej Sobieraj, aged 71, all are residents of Szóstka. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us who can write, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
