Marriage of Wojciech Kochanowski and Marianna Kokowicz (1873)

This is my translation of the Russian language marriage record of Wojciech Kochanowski and Marianna Kokowicz, from the Ostrowąs parish.

Ostrowąs, No. 4, 1873

This happened in the village of Ostrowąs on the 27th of August, 1873, at 8 a.m. We declare in the presence of: Tomasz Kokowicz, aged 41, and Jan Grzegorski, aged 50, both are farmer owners residing in the village of Ostrowąs, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:

Wojciech Kochanowski, aged 30, a widower – his previous wife was Teresa nee Sygit, a laborer residing in the village of Zakrzewo, the son of the deceased couple Stanisław and Marcianna Kochanowski nee Malecka, born in the village of Gosławice – Powiat Nieszawa,

and Marianna Kokowicz, aged 24, single, residing in the village of Ostrowąs, the daughter of the deceased couple Józef and Katarzyna Kokowicz nee Serocka, born in the village of Brzeżno – Powiat Nieszawa.

Three announcements preceded this marriage. The banns were read, at the Ostrowąs and Straszewo Parish Churches, on the 10th, 17th, and 24th of August, 1873. No impediments arose and the families gave their approvals. The newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them. This document, after being read aloud to the witnesses and the newlyweds, was signed by the presiding pastor.
