Marriage of Mateusz Chwaliszak and Salomea Gorzycka (1811)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Mateusz Chwaliszak and Salomea Gorzycka, from the Broniewo Parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Płowki, 1811

This happened on October 26th, 1811. Before Us, the undersigned Registrar of Vital Records of the District of Broniewo, Radziejów County, Bydgoszcz Department:

Mateusz Chwaliszak, aged 22, single, resides with his parents in the village of Chełmce, the son of Łukasz and Zofia Chwaliszak, born in Chełmce, according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Chełmce Parish.

Salomea Gorzycka, aged 19, single, she resides with her parents in the village of Płowki, the daughter of Kazimerz and Helena Gorzycki, born in the village of Płowki, according to the Radziejów District Court.

The parties who appeared request that we proceed with the celebration of the wedding they have arranged between them, the announcement of which was published before the main doors of our District Court, that is: first on the 13th of October, and the second on the 20th of October, 1811, at 12 p.m. When we were not informed of any obstacles to the aforementioned marriage, and the parents here in attendance hereby consent, acquiescing to the aforementioned request, after reading to the parties and witnesses all the aforementioned papers and Section Six of the Civil Code regarding marriage, we asked the future husband and future wife whether they wished to join with each other in marital union, and when each of them responded separately that such is their wish, we proclaim in the name of the law that Mateusz and Salomea are joined in the bonds of matrimony.

Of which we recorded this record in the presence of: Izydor Stanny, aged 60, residing in the village of Chełmce; Kasper Gorzycki, aged 47, residing in the village of Płowki; Roch Siewierski, aged 44, an organist for the Broniewo Parish; and Grzegorz Banachowski, aged 38, residing the village of Broniewo. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us who can write, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
