Marriage of Bartlomiej Nadzieja and Anna Wisniewska (1815)

This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Bartłomiej Nadzieja and Anna Wiśniewska nee Żywiczka, from the Broniewo Parish. Any errors are completely my own.

Szóstka, 1815

This happened on November 6th, 1815. Before Us, the undersigned Registrar of Vital Records of the District of Broniewo, Radziejów County, Bydgoszcz Department:

Bartłomiej Nadzieja, aged 18, single, appearing with his father Maciej, born in the village of Szóstka, where he previously resided with his family, according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Broniewo Parish.

Agnieszka Wiśniewska, aged 30, a widow, according to a certificate excerpted from the books of the Broniewo Parish.

The parties who appeared request that we proceed with the celebration of the wedding they have arranged between them, the announcement of which was published before the main doors of our District Court, that is: first on the 15th of October, and the second on the 22nd of October, 1815, at 12 p.m. When we were not informed of any obstacles to the aforementioned marriage, and the parents here in attendance hereby consent, acquiescing to the aforementioned request, after reading to the parties and witnesses all the aforementioned papers and Section Six of the Civil Code regarding marriage, we asked the future husband and future wife whether they wished to join with each other in marital union, and when each of them responded separately that such is their wish, we proclaim in the name of the law that Bartłomiej and Agnieszka are joined in the bonds of matrimony.

Of which we recorded this record in the presence of: Tomasz Majewski, aged 40; Franciszek Marek, aged 50; Sebastian Karcz, aged 40; and Wawrzyniec Mędrala, aged 62. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by us who can write, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
