The Super Stealth of Ignacy Tobiasz

After receiving records from the Włocławek Archives of my Andrzejczak ancestors, I had ordered some of the Siniarzewo Parish films from my local Family History Center. About a month ago, I was able to search these films. Not only did I find records of my Andrzejczak ancestors, but I also found entries for a Tobiasz family. Through the Siniarzewo films, I will be able to trace back a few more generations of my Andzrejczak ancestry. I will document these findings in an upcoming post.
Now…onto the Tobiasz family that was living in the area of the Siniarzewo parish…..
The first baptismal or marriage entry in the Siniarzewo Parish records for a Tobiasz was documented in 1856. The record was the marriage of Andrzej Tobiasz and Jadwiga Gołzbieska. There are many interesting takeaways from this record, which I have listed out below:
1) Andrzej Tobiasz was born in the village of Dulsk and his parents are listed as Stanisław and Agnieszka Tobiasz. Dulsk belongs to the Góra Parish and is located in powiat Inowrocław.
2) Jadwiga Gołzbieska was born in the village of Skarbkowa Wola and her parents are listed as Michał and Jozefa Gołzbieski. Skarbkowa Wola belongs to the Osięciny Parish and is located in powiat Nieszawa.
3) Both of the couple that married were born in other places within Kujawy. This could indicate that people either moved often or where moved often. Peasants may have been required to move to other locations depending on work requirements.
4) One of the witnesses to the marriage was a Ignacy Tobiasz. Ignacy’s age was listed as 37 years old and being from Siniarzewo.

Throughout the other records, I had found many baptized children of Andrzej and Jadwiga. There was also a Franciszek Tobiasz who baptized a child in the 1860’s. Again, the only record I can find of an Ignacy Tobiasz is one in which he is a witness or godfather. If this is the same Ignacy (my Ignacy) and I can find his children, I should be able to trace him back to Dulsk. Ignacy may be the brother of the Andrzej……
Today, I am going to visit the local Family History Center and look through another Siniarzewo Parish film. I am searching marriage records after 1856 and death records for this Tobiasz family. Wish me luck, who knows, Ignacy may have married in this parish…….
