What Ever Happened to the Polish Genealogical Society of Wisconsin?
Hello,
I would like to ask a question. What ever happened to the Polish Genealogical Society of Wisconsin? I understand that the organization ceased its existence in 2005, but why? Milwaukee and the whole state of Wisconsin hosts one of the largest Polish-American populations in the United States. The Polish Genealogical Society of America is located 90 miles away from Milwaukee in Chicago, but I believe Milwaukee and Wisconsin have a rich enough Polish-American history that they could constitute it’s own society besides the PGSA. Please feel free to comment on this topic. Agree or disagree, but I would like to know peoples opinions on this matter (specifically Polish-Americans from Wisconsin).
More information on Polish-American populations can be found on wiki’s article about Polish-Americans. I did have more information from the Wisconsin State government website, but unfortunately I cannot find it. Once I do find this information I will post it in another blog post.
Best Regards,
Al
