The Kobs surname is Germanic in origin. My Kobs ancestry probably started with Germanic roots. The Złotow area in Poland was settled by many German families. I have been able to trace my Kobs ancestors back to 1812. Some interesting facts are that from 1812 to the present: they have always married a Polish husband or wife, lived in Polish communities, claimed to be Polish on censuses, and attended Polish Catholic churches. This is why I believe that my Kobs ancestors have been thoroughly Polonized through the years. Because of the theory above, it is difficult to dismiss my German roots.
