The 27th Edition of the Carnival of Central and Eastern European Genealogy

Welcome to the 27th edition of the Carnival of Central and Eastern European Genealogy! This edition features articles written with the theme of “the Village of my Ancestors”. There are eight articles in this edition. Enjoy!
The first article was written by TCasteel of the Tangled Trees. In the article titled Bakonyoszlop, Veszprem, Hungary – Village of my Ancestors, TCasteel writes about a village of her ancestors located in mountains of Hungary.
The second article was written by Carol of Reflections From the Fence. In the article titled Carnival of Central and Eastern European Genealogy, 27th Edition, Carol writes about the Gehrke family’s ancestral village, which is now located within the borders of Poland.
The third article was written by Brenda of the blog called Brenda Dougall Merriman. In the article titled One Ancestral Village-Region in Latvia, Brenda writes about researching a particular area in Latvia.
The fourth article was written by J.M. of Tracing My Roots. In the article titled History of a Village on the Hills, J.M. shares the history of Bottrop, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
The fifth article was written by Amanda of A Tale of Two Ancestors. In the article titled Hohenstaufen, Germany, Amanda writes about the history of Hohenstaufen, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.
The sixth article was written by Donna Pointkouski of What’s Past is Prologue. Donna’s article titled “This happened in the town of Mszczonów”, provides a detailed history of the town of Mszczonów, Poland.
The seventh article was written by Antra of Discovering Latvian Roots. In the article titled Village of My Ancestors: Krustpils, Antra writes about the history of the village of Krustpils, Latvia.
The eighth article was written by Al Wierzba of Al’s Polish-American Genealogy Research. The article is titled The Villages Surrounding the Góra Parish. The article gives some history on the villages near Inowrocław, Poland.
I would like to thank all the article contributors!! Although the topic may have been difficult due to lack of historical information, all of the contributors arose to the challenge. Thank you all again!
Here are the details for the next edition of the Carnival of Central and Eastern European Genealogy:
Antra of Discovering Latvian Roots will be hosting the 28th edition.The topic for the edition will be “War Stories – Central and Eastern Europe has experienced a lot of war and devastation over the past centuries, so this would be a time to remember our ancestors whose lives were affected by these wars, whether they were civilians or military personnel.” The submission deadline will be April 25th and the edition will be posted on April 28th.
