Marriage of Mateusz Nowak and Marianna Pankowska (1862)

This happened in the village of Straszewo on the 21st of September, 1862, at 12 p.m. We declare in the presence of Wojciech Michalski, a farm owner in Zakrzewo, and Balcer Galant, a steward residing in Bodzanowo, both 40 years old, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:

Mateusz Nowak, age 21, a catholic youth, a laborer in Zakrzewo, was born in Gosławice, district of Włocławek; son of Jan Nowak, who was a Shepherd in Krzywosądz and the late Justyna Sobek.

and Marianna Pankowska, age 17, a catholic girl, born and resides in Zakrzewo; daughter of the deceased Jan Pankowski, a former farm owner in Zakrzewo, and Łucja Kochanowska. Marianna lives with her mother in Zakrzewo.

Three announcements preceded this marriage. The banns were read, at the the local parish church, on August 31st, September 7th and 14th before the marriage date, as well as oral consent from the bride’s mother, who was present for the Record of Marriage. No impediment arose. The newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them. This religious ceremony of marriage was performed by the Reverend Jakób Kolęda, Straszewo pastor and parish administrator. This document, after being read aloud to the witnesses and the newlyweds, was signed by the presiding pastor.
