Baptism of Jan Kacprzak (1839)

This is my translation of the Polish language baptismal record of Jan Kacprzak, from the Ostrowąż parish.

Kijowiec, No. 37, 1839

This occurred in the village of Ostrowąż, on the 9th/21st of September, 1839, at 10 a.m. Stanisław Kacprzak appeared, aged 30, Catholic, a laborer residing in Kijowiec, in the presence of Stanisław Drzewiecki, aged 35, a shepherd residing in Kijowiec, and Jakób Szymański, aged 30, residing in Kijowiec, and showed us a male child born in Kijowiec, on the 8th/20th of September, 1839, at 10 p.m., to his lawful wife Marianna nee Pawlak, aged 33. At Holy Baptism performed this day, this child was given the name Jan Kanty. The godparents were: Stanisław Drzewiecki and Józefa Szymańska. This document was read to the declarant and witnesses, who are illiterate, and was signed by us alone.
