Marriage of Marcin Smurlat and Franciszka Szparaga (1849)
Hello,
This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Marcin Smurlat and Franciszka Szpagara, from the Byczyna Parish. Any errors are completely my own.
Szalonki, No. 15, 1849
This happened in village of Byczyna on the 27th of October, 1849, at 1 p.m. We declare in the presence of Józef Malicki, aged 50, a miller residing in Szalonki, and Wincenty Nowakowski, aged 27, an organist residing in Byczyna, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:
Marcin Smurlat, aged 24, single, a laborer residing in Szalonki, born in the village of Pilichowo, the son of the late Wawrzyniec Smurlat and his widow Jadwiga Wojciechowski nee Wolęcka – who resides in Szalonki,
and Franciszka Szpagara, aged 27, single, a worker residing in Szalonki, born in the village of Zagajewice, the daughter of Józef – a tenant farmer – and Józefa Szpagara nee Łakomecka – who reside in Szalonki.
The wedding was preceded by three readings of the banns at the Byczyna Church, on the 7th, 14th, and 21st of October, 1849. No impediments arose and the newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and signed by Us who can write, because those appearing and the witnesses mentioned in this document cannot write.
J. Malicki
W. Nowakowski
Rev. Bujakowski, Pastor of the Byczyna Parish and Civil Registrar.
