Marriage of Edward Chmielewski and Barbara Karpik (1860)
Hello,
This is my translation of the Polish language marriage record of Edward Chmielewski and Barbara Karpik, from the Bytoń parish. Any errors are completely my own.
Bytoń, No. 20, 1860
This happened in Bytoń, on the 24th of November, 1860, at 12 p.m. We declare in the presence of Wojciech Krakowski, aged 40, a farmhand, and Wojciech Zieliński, aged 30, a groom, both are laborers residing in the village of Bytoń, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:
Edward Chmielewski, aged 24, single, a worker residing in the village of Bytoń, son of Franciszek and Apolonia Chmielewski, born in the village of Patrowo,
and Barbara Karpik, aged 29, single, daughter of the deceased couple Maciej and Agata Karpik, born in the town of Służewo.
Three announcements preceded this marriage. The banns were read, at the Bytoń Parish Church on the 4th, 11th, and 18th of November, 1860. No impediments arose. No prenuptial agreement was made between the newlyweds. This document, after being read aloud to the witnesses and the newlyweds, was signed by the presiding pastor.
Rev. Jezierski, Pastor of the Bytoń and Civil Registrar.
Best Regards,
