Marriage of Balcer Derenda and Marianna Nowak (1856)

This happened in the village of Straszewo on the 4th of November, 1856, at 8 a.m. We declare in the presence of Wojciech Michalski, aged 32, a farmer, uncle to the groom, and Szymon Matuszak, aged 32, the uncle of the grooms brother, both are residents of Zakrzewo, that on this day a religious marital union was contracted between:

Balcer Derenda, aged 30, a widow, Catholic, a farmhand residing in Krzywosądz, his prior wife Marianna Karaś died on April 11th, 1856, he was born in Ostrów, the son of the deceased Wojciech Derenda who was a farmhand in Ostrów and Petronella,

and Marianna Nowak, aged 22, single, Catholic, an attendant in Zakrzewo, born in Bodzanowo, the daughter of Jan Nowak – a farmhand in Krzywosądz and the the late Justyna Nowak nee Robaszek.

Three announcements preceded this marriage. The banns were read, at the Straszewo and Krzywosądz Parish churches, on the 19th and 26th of October, and the 2nd of November, 1856. No impediment arose. The newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them. This document, after being read aloud to the witnesses and the newlyweds, was signed by the presiding pastor.
