Obituary Project – SPAGS

Hello,

In the recent edition of the Stevens Point Area Genealogical Society’s (SPAGS) publication called “Pedigree Pointers”, SPAGS announced a new obituary indexing project that is currently underway. The project will cover obituaries from the following newspapers: Junction City Community Press, Amherst Advocate, Wisconsin Eagle, The Point, and Wisconsin State Rights. The indexes will be available on the SPAGS website after completion (Obituary Project, Pedigree Pointers, 2010, p.11).

The next batch of newspapers scheduled for indexing include: Almond Press, Green Bay Intelligencer, Plover Herald, Amherst Tomorrow River Times, Rosholt Community Press, Rosholt Review, Central Wisconsin Herald, The Polish Weekly, and Stevens Point Democrat (Obituary Project, Pedigree Pointers, 2010, p.11).

This is definitely a huge undertaking. I look forward to seeing the results.
