Preface:
All of the records above came from the Radziejów Parish, Broniewo Parish, Byczyna Parish, Izbica Kujawska Parish, Radziejów Inhabitant Registers, or the Piotrkow Kujawski Inhabitant Registers. The records are taken from the LDS films, Meldunkowe section of the Genealodzy.pl website, and the Genealogy in Archives website.
Records Summary:
Filip Gorzycki was born in the village of Płowki (1), in Gmina Radziejów, the Broniewo Parish, on April 30th, 1821, to his parents Antoni and Małgorzata Gorzycki nee Pilachowska. Antoni was a farm owner residing in the village of Płowki, where his family resided since the 1730’s.
Marianna Grzelak was born around 1823, in the village of Połajewo (2), Gmina Ruszkowo, the Połajewo Parish, to her parents Jakób and Marianna Grzelak nee Maciejak. Jakób was a farm owner residing in the village of Opatowice (3). (Note: I’ll need to order the Połajewo Parish films from the local LDS Family History Center to find her birth record).
Marianna would marry for the first time on November 21st, 1842, to Walenty Michalak. Walenty was a farmer living in the village of Opatowice. Both Walenty and Marianna were aged 19 at the time of the marriage. The following year, on December 17th, 1843, the couple gave birth to their daughter Ewa. Walenty would pass away at the early age of 23, on September 13th, 1844.
Marianna was a widow and single mother and would look to marry quickly. On July 29th, 1845, she found her new husband. Filip and Marianna would marry in the village of Opatowice. The couple would reside in the village of Opatowice where Filip owned a farm. On February 23rd, 1846, the couple would have their first child, named Kunegunda. The following year, on February 1st, 1847, the couple gave birth to their second daughter, who was named Rozalia.
In 1849, the couple were residing in Kolonia Opatowice (4). On October 12th, 1849, the couple gave birth to their third daughter. She would be named Jadwiga. Filip’s father Antoni was present during the baptism. On September 16th, 1850, while the family was residing in Opatowice, their daughter Rozalia died. She was 3 years old. Filip’s father Antoni was present. By 1852, the family would once again reside in Kolonia Opatowice. On July 5th, 1852, their daughter Jadwiga would die. Less than a month later, the couple gave birth to their daughter Zuzanna, on August 3rd, 1852. Filip’s father Antoni was listed as the Godfather.
There is a gap between BMD records for the family, specifically between 1853-1855. No records are found during this time within the Radziejów Parish or the Broniewo Parish. There is a good possibility that the couple may have given birth to another child during this time, but within a different parish.
On July 9th, 1856, Filip and Marianna would give birth to a son named Wincenty. Within 7 months, Wincenty would pass away. On February 8th, 1857, Wincenty died. Under a year later, on January 9th, 1858, Marianna Gorzycka nee Grzelak, died, in Kolonia Stary Radziejów (5) (note: Need to find and post the death record of Marianna from 1858). Filip was a widower and would have two daughters, Kunegunda and Zuzanna, to raise. Filip would look quickly for a wife to help raise his two children.
On June 22nd, 1858, Filip would marry Marianna Kocińśka. The couple would reside in Kolonia Opatowice, where they were peasant colonist farmers. On August 25th, 1860, the couple gave birth to their first child Anastazja. The couple gave birth to their second child, Józef, on March 8th, 1863. On April 26th, 1865, the couple would give birth to their third child, Katarzyna. Unfortunately, by September 20th, 1865, Katarzyna died. On March 3rd, 1867, the couple would give birth to a son who was named Wojciech. Just over 2 years later, the couple gave birth to a daughter named Katarzyna, on April 17th, 1869. By 1870, the couple were still residing in Kolonia Opatowice, where they were peasant colonist farmers. The family would include the following children: Kunegunda, Zuzanna, Anastazja, Józef, Wojciech, and Katarzyna.
The first of Filip’s children, Zuzanna, would marry. Zuzanna married a widower named Wincenty Deręgowski on July 12th, 1871, in Kolonia Opatowice. The newlyweds would reside and raise their family in the village of Palczewo (6), where Wincenty owned a farm. They would have their permanent residence in Kolonia Palczewo (7), Gmina Piotrków Kujawski in house #6.
On January 9th, 1872, Filip and Marianna would give birth to another son, his name was Walenty. Within the same year, Walenty would pass away (note: Need to find and post the death record of Walenty from 1872). On February 24th, 1873, Wojciech, aged 7, would die in Kolonia Opatowice. In the same year, on July 9th, 1873, the couple gave birth to a daughter named Franciszka. On April 28th, 1874, their daughter Franciszka, aged 10 months, would pass away.
By 1875, Filip (aged 50) and Marianna (aged 30) would move their family (Kunegunda, Anastazja, Józef, and Katarzyna) to the village of Bieganowo (8), where they would farm. On March 24th, 1875, the couple would give birth to a daughter named Marianna. They would have their permanent residence in Bieganowo, Gmina Radziejów, house #D1 (Note: This house record is not located on the Meldunkowe section of the Genealodzy.pl website. This reference is located on the Population Register for Marianna Ciepła nee Gorzycka).
Filip and Marianna nee Kocińska’s first child Anastazja would marry Wincenty Kmieć, in Kolonia Bieganowo (9), on February 11th, 1877. Wincenty was a farm owner residing in Lekarzewice – Kościelna Wieś Parish. The couple would have one child in Kościelna Wieś (10), before moving to Józefowo (11) – Izbica Kujawska Parish. Anastazja would die in Józefowo, on November 15th, 1882.
On April 26th, 1878, Filip and Marianna would give birth to a son named Antoni in the village of Bieganowo. Less than a year later, on February 1st, 1879, Antoni would pass away. The couple would have one more child, her name was Antonina. She was born on February 26th, 1880, in Kolonia Bieganowo. On August 18th, 1881, Antonina would pass away in the village of Bieganowo. The family would remain living and working in the village of Bieganowo.
Józef Gorzycki would marry Antonina Malinowska, on July 25th, 1882, in the village of Kłonowo (12). The couple would live in the village of Kłonowo, which belongs to the Byczyna Parish. They would raise their family in Kłonowo until at least 1887. Note: I cannot find the family in the Byczyna Parish or any of the surrounding villages and parishes after 1887.
By 1888, Katarzyna Gorzycka was residing in Kolonia Opatowice. This is where she would marry Ignacy Mańkowski, who was a worker residing in Pruchnowo. On October 2nd, 1888, the couple would marry. They would have their permanent residence in Probostwo Piotrków (13), house #5, Gmina Piotrków Kujawski. The couple would raise their family in the villages surrounding parishes of Radziejów and Piotrków.
On September 13th, 1890, in the village of Bieganowo, Filip Gorzycki, aged 72, passed away. He left behind his wife Marianna and his surviving children: Kunegunda, Zuzanna Deręgowska, Józef, Katarzyna Mańkowska, and Marianna.
On April 28th, 1896, the last of Filip’s children would marry. Marianna would marry Tomasz Ciepły in Radziejów (14). They would have their permanent residence in Radziejów, Gmina Radziejów in house #42. They would live with the mother of Tomasz and the couples children.
On August 31st, 1904, Filip’s widow, Marianna Gorzycka nee Kocińska, died, aged 60, in the village of Radziejów.

Maps:
The map below is a combination of maps found on the website for Map Archive of Wojskowy Instytut Geograficzny: http://english.mapywig.org/news.php. The map below is derived from the following areas: Ciechocinek and Radziejów. I used Photoshop to merge the maps into a panorama of the area where my ancestors were located. The map is not 100% aligned, but it does give a general idea of where villages were located.
The villages with “stars” are the Polish villages that are listed above under “Locations”. Only the locations of Filip’s families residence are marked with “stars”. The locations of their children are not marked on this map. More information for the villages within this article can be found on the Slownik Geograficzny Translations page on this website: http://www.apagr.com/slownik-geograficzny-translations/
Best Regards,
